DANIEL 9:24-27 Interpreting the Seventy Weeks of Daniel’s Prophecy

Daniel 9:24-27 gives us a prophetic time period, wherein there would be a word to restore and build Jerusalem that would initiate a time that would run up unto the coming of an anointed one, the Messiah, who would then be cut off and closing out of the seventy weeks of years with the end of the Abrahamic covenant. What do the different aspects of the 70 weeks of Daniel's prophecy mean?

How Can We Know When the Day of the Lord Upon Us?

The reference here is to the coming of the Lord Jesus, and to the various events connected with his presence. The “times or seasons,” or periods when God’s will and purposes in specific affairs are to take place, were of great interest to his servants (Acts 1:7), who came to understand them as they were made known in stages, steadily.

Has the End of All Things Drawn Close?

The First Epistle to Peter was penned about 62–64 C.E., just some 6-8-years before the destruction of Jerusalem and an all-out attack on the Jewish people by the Roman Empire, which would include Jewish Christians. Christians today face a similar difficulty because the long time that has been given to Satan’s wicked world is now entering a very dark period of time in history. (Rom. 13:12) It would be very dangerous and quite foolish for any Christian to lose sight of the prize at this late hour!

What Does the Bible Really Say About the Final Judgment?

Overall, the Bible teaches that the final judgment is a time of great importance when all people will be held accountable for their actions and when the righteous will be rewarded and the wicked punished. It is a time of great importance for all believers, and it is important to live a life that is pleasing to God, anticipating this day.
