Satan’s goal is always to undermine confidence in Scripture, for he knows that once the foundation of God’s Word is weakened, individuals and societies fall into ruin.

The deceiver uses subtlety, not transparency. He infiltrates churches with false teaching, disguises spiritual error with religious language, and encourages compromised leaders to twist Scripture for cultural acceptance. He thrives in environments where Scripture is minimized or replaced by emotion-driven spirituality, human wisdom, or mystical experiences. The antidote to his lies is not intellectual speculation but unwavering fidelity to the Word of God. Those who remain anchored in Scripture can expose his deceptions and resist his schemes. The battle for truth is inseparable from the battle against the father of lies, and victory is found only through allegiance to Christ and His revealed Word.

Rejecting the Authority of Feelings

One of the most destructive trends of the modern age is the elevation of personal feelings as the highest authority. Emotions, while valuable, were never intended to guide belief, moral decision-making, or spiritual discernment. Feelings change. They fluctuate with circumstances, moods, and personal desires. When individuals make emotions their compass, they drift into confusion and instability. Yet society insists that emotions define identity, validate behavior, and determine truth.

This mindset has infiltrated the Church, where many base their doctrine on impressions, experiences, or inner sensations rather than Scripture. Some assume that emotional intensity signifies the presence of the Holy Spirit, replacing objective revelation with subjective experience. Others reinterpret clear biblical commands based on personal feelings about love, fairness, or compassion. This approach enslaves individuals to an unstable authority and leads them away from the solid ground of God’s Word.

True spiritual maturity demands that feelings submit to Scripture, not the other way around. The Word of God renews the mind, corrects the heart, and produces stable convictions rooted in truth rather than emotion. When individuals align their lives with Scripture, their emotions gradually conform to righteousness and wisdom. The believer learns to distrust the impulses of the fallen nature and to rely instead on the clarity and certainty provided by divine revelation. The authority of Scripture must rule over every inward feeling, ensuring that truth governs the heart rather than the fluctuations of human emotion.

Objective Truth vs. Subjective Experience

The tension between objective truth and subjective experience defines much of the spiritual confusion in the modern world. Objective truth is truth that exists independently of human opinion or perception. It is grounded in the nature of God and revealed in Scripture. Subjective experience, by contrast, is personal, internal, and variable. It cannot provide a reliable foundation for doctrine because it cannot offer universal certainty or divine authority.

Many today interpret Scripture through the lens of their own experiences rather than allowing Scripture to interpret and govern their experiences. Subjective impressions become the filter that shapes doctrine, leading to distorted understandings of God, salvation, morality, and spiritual life. This inversion places human experience above divine revelation and creates a false spirituality built on personal interpretation rather than the clear teaching of the Word.

Objective truth liberates because it does not depend on human instability. It reveals what is right regardless of one’s feelings, circumstances, or background. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart, correcting error and grounding the believer in righteousness. Subjective experience becomes valuable only when it is brought under the authority of objective truth. The Scriptures are the standard by which all experiences must be measured, ensuring that personal perceptions do not lead individuals into deception. The Christian life is strengthened by objective truth, not by the unpredictability of subjective sensation.

The Bible as the Final Arbiter in All Things

In a world filled with competing voices and shifting moral claims, the Bible alone stands as the decisive and infallible authority. Jehovah has spoken through His Word, and His revelation judges every worldview, every moral assertion, every religious system, and every personal conviction. Scripture is not one authority among many; it is the final authority that determines the legitimacy of all others. When believers submit to this authority, they possess a firm foundation that cannot be shaken by cultural pressure, intellectual trends, or personal doubt.

The Scriptures function as the arbiter of truth because they alone reveal the mind and will of God. Human reasoning, while valuable, is limited and vulnerable to error. It frees the believer from the instability of human opinion and anchors the soul in the unchanging truth of God. The world offers chaos, but Christ offers clarity through His Word. The Bible remains the final measure of all things, the immovable foundation upon which every aspect of life must be built.
