Although we cannot see God with our physical eyes, the Bible provides ample evidence of His existence, character, and power. By examining God’s revelation in Scripture, the natural world, and His interactions with humanity, we can come to know and trust the unseen God in profound ways that transform our lives.

How Is It Possible to Learn About an Unseen God?

One of the most profound truths presented in the Bible is that God, though invisible, makes Himself known through His creation and His Word. Hebrews 11:6 declares, “Without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” This verse emphasizes the importance of faith in our relationship with God, but it also implies that God is knowable to those who seek Him earnestly.

Romans 1:20 further affirms that God’s existence and attributes are clearly visible through His creation: “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” Though God is unseen, the natural world provides a constant testimony of His power and character. The vastness of the universe, the complexity of life, and the intricate balance of nature all point to an intelligent, purposeful Creator.

In addition to creation, God has provided us with His inspired Word, the Bible, as a means of revealing Himself to humanity. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” Through the Bible, we learn not only about God’s existence but also about His will, His character, and His plan for humanity. The Bible serves as the ultimate guide to understanding the unseen God and learning how to live in a way that pleases Him.

Furthermore, the life of Jesus Christ provides the most tangible revelation of God to humanity. John 1:18 states, “No one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.” Jesus, as the Son of God, made the invisible God known by living among us and demonstrating God’s love, mercy, and truth. When we study the life and teachings of Jesus, we are given a clear picture of who God is and how He desires to relate to us.

Why Can You Be Sure of God’s Awesome Power and His Ability to Use It?

God’s power is one of His most defining attributes, and the Bible provides numerous examples that demonstrate His omnipotence. From the creation of the universe to the deliverance of His people, Jehovah has shown time and time again that His power is unmatched and that He uses it to accomplish His purposes. Psalm 33:6 affirms God’s creative power: “By the word of Jehovah the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.” The sheer magnitude of the universe is a testimony to God’s limitless power. As Creator, Jehovah has authority over all that exists, and nothing is beyond His control.

One of the most dramatic displays of God’s power is the parting of the Red Sea, recorded in Exodus 14:21-22. This miraculous event demonstrated Jehovah’s ability to intervene in the natural world to deliver His people from danger. Such acts reveal that God’s power is not abstract or distant but is actively used to protect, guide, and deliver those who trust in Him.

Beyond physical manifestations, God’s power is also evident in His ability to fulfill His promises. Isaiah 55:11 assures us that God’s Word will always accomplish what He intends: “So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” This means that when God declares something, it is guaranteed to happen because His power ensures that His will is always carried out.

In the New Testament, we see the ultimate display of God’s power in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Romans 1:4 states that Jesus “was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead.” The resurrection is not only a testament to God’s power over life and death but also a guarantee that He can and will fulfill His promises to us regarding eternal life and salvation.

Because of these examples, we can be confident that God is able to use His power on behalf of His people. Ephesians 3:20 encourages us with the knowledge that God “is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us.” This power is not theoretical; it is active in the lives of believers as they seek to follow God’s will.

What Should We Know About God Regarding Knowledge and Wisdom?

God’s knowledge and wisdom are boundless, and understanding these attributes helps us trust Him more fully. Psalm 147:5 declares, “Great is our Lord, and abundant in power; his understanding is beyond measure.” Unlike human wisdom, which is limited and often flawed, God’s knowledge is perfect, and His wisdom is infinite. He knows all things, past, present, and future, and nothing is hidden from Him.

One of the clearest examples of God’s wisdom is found in His creation. Proverbs 3:19 states, “Jehovah by wisdom founded the earth; by understanding he established the heavens.” The intricate design of the universe, the complexity of life, and the laws of nature all reflect God’s wisdom in creating a world that is orderly, balanced, and suited for human habitation. This wisdom extends to every aspect of life, from the smallest details to the grandest cosmic events.

Moreover, God’s wisdom is not only theoretical but is applied in His interactions with humanity. Romans 11:33-34 praises God’s wisdom in His plan of salvation: “Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!” The plan of redemption, culminating in the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, is a demonstration of God’s perfect wisdom. It reveals that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:9).

As we come to know more about God’s wisdom and knowledge, we learn to trust Him more deeply. James 1:5 encourages believers to seek God’s wisdom in their own lives: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” God’s wisdom is available to those who seek it, and it is through His Word and Spirit-inspired guidance that we can navigate life’s challenges with confidence.

How Do You Benefit from Displays of God’s Personality?

God’s personality, as revealed in Scripture, is characterized by love, justice, mercy, patience, and faithfulness. These attributes are not only to be admired but also to be experienced in the lives of believers. When we understand and embrace the aspects of God’s personality, we are drawn into a deeper relationship with Him, which brings profound benefits to our lives.

First, God’s love is a central theme of the Bible and is most clearly demonstrated in His desire for a relationship with humanity. 1 John 4:16 reminds us, “God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” This love is not merely an abstract concept but is personal and active. John 3:16 declares, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” The ultimate expression of God’s love is the sacrifice of Jesus for the salvation of sinners, and this love transforms the lives of those who accept it.

In addition to His love, God’s justice is a key aspect of His personality. Deuteronomy 32:4 declares, “The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is he.” God’s justice ensures that He is always fair and righteous in His dealings with humanity. For believers, this means that we can trust God to make all things right, even when we face injustice or suffering in this life.

Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.” This passage reminds us that although we may experience temporary hardships, God’s favor and love are enduring. His interest in us is not fleeting but constant, and His ultimate desire is for our joy and well-being.

One of the clearest expressions of God’s loving interest is found in His provision for our needs. Matthew 6:31-33 encourages us not to be anxious about our daily needs because “your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.” God’s intimate knowledge of our lives and His promise to provide for us demonstrate His personal care and concern. He is not indifferent to our struggles but actively works to meet our needs according to His perfect wisdom and timing.

Moreover, God’s discipline is another sign of His loving interest. Hebrews 12:6-7 explains, “For Jehovah disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives… If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” God’s discipline, though sometimes painful, is a reflection of His love because it is meant to correct and guide us toward greater holiness and happiness.

In response to God’s loving interest, we are called to trust Him completely and live lives of gratitude and obedience. Knowing that the Creator of the universe cares personally for each of us should inspire awe, joy, and deep reverence. Psalm 8:4 marvels, “What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?” The fact that God takes a personal interest in each of us is a profound truth that should fill our hearts with love and devotion for Him.

What Is the Relationship Between the Father and the Son?

The relationship between Jehovah and His Son, Jesus Christ, is one of the central teachings of the Bible. This relationship is unique and foundational to understanding the nature of God and His plan for salvation. John 1:1-2 reveals the eternal nature of this relationship: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 5:19 further clarifies this relationship when Jesus says, “The Son can do nothing of his own accord, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.” Here, we see that Jesus perfectly reflects the will of Jehovah, acting in complete harmony with Him.

And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.” Jesus, though equal with the Father, chose to humble Himself and submit to Jehovah’s will, even to the point of dying for the sins of mankind. This act of ultimate obedience highlights the depth of the relationship between the Father and the Son and underscores the love that both have for humanity.

Why Should God Be Important in Your Life?

God should be the most important relationship in every person’s life because He is the Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer of all things. Our very existence depends on Him, and our purpose in life is found in serving and glorifying Him. Colossians 1:16 reminds us, “For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible… all things were created through him and for him.” We were made to have a relationship with Jehovah, and true happiness can only be found when we live according to His will.

Jehovah’s importance in our lives is also seen in His provision of salvation through Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 declares, “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Without God’s intervention, we would be lost in sin and separated from Him eternally. Therefore, our response to this salvation should be one of gratitude, devotion, and worship.

Furthermore, God’s importance in our lives is reflected in His role as the ultimate source of wisdom and guidance. Proverbs 3:5-6 instructs us, “Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” We are not capable of navigating life on our own; we need God’s wisdom to guide us in every decision, every trial, and every joy.

Finally, God’s importance in our lives is evidenced by His eternal promises. Revelation 21:3-4 gives us a glimpse of the future that God has prepared for those who love Him: “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people… He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” This promise of eternal life in God’s presence provides hope and assurance that our relationship with Him will continue forever.
