Interactions between science and Christianity are often mistakenly described under the heading “Science and the Bible.” Little progress can be made, however, until one realizes that such a comparison results from a confusion of categories.
The history of the interaction between science and theology is a complicated affair, and it is generally recognized today that a warfare metaphor—theology and science are constantly at war, with theology the regular loser—is a simplistic, false picture of the nature of this interaction.
