SCRIPTURES OFTEN MISUNDERSTOOD: Acts 2:38; 22:16; 1 Peter 3:21: Does Water Baptism Save You?

“And now why do you wait? Rise and be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on his name,’” are the words that came to the apostle Paul when he converted. (Acts 22:16, UASV) Does this show that the sins of Paul were forgiven by being baptized? Did baptism by immersion wash away Paul’s sins? Did Peter in Acts 2:38 declare that baptism was necessary for salvation? Did Peter not say, “Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you …” (1 Peter 3:21) These verses and others will be answered.
