Wives_02 HUSBANDS - Love Your Wives

What does Jehovah expect of you—as an individual Christian, as part of a Christian family, a member of a faithful church, and a citizen under human government? This is not just a theological question; it is the practical question that runs through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Every command, principle, and example in Scripture speaks to one or more of these four areas. If we want to live wisely and faithfully in this present age, we must understand what the Bible says about each.

Individual Christian

The Bible teaches personal responsibility in our walk with God. Faith, repentance, moral conduct, spiritual growth, prayer, evangelism, and perseverance—these are duties of every believer. Scripture calls each person to know Jehovah, obey His Word, and conform his or her life to the character of Christ. The individual is the foundation upon which all other relationships stand.

Christian Family

Marriage, parenting, and household conduct are all addressed in God’s Word. A Christian home is not merely a cultural arrangement but a God-ordained institution. The roles of husband and wife, the responsibilities of parents and children, and the purpose of the family all come under divine instruction. The family is where faith is nurtured, character is shaped, and godly legacy begins.

Christian Church

The local congregation is the visible expression of the body of Christ. God’s Word governs how the church is to be structured, what its leadership should be like, how it should function, and what its mission is in the world. Fellowship, worship, teaching, mutual encouragement, correction, and church discipline are all essential to the church’s health and purpose. The church is not just a gathering—it is a pillar and support of the truth.

Christian View of Government

The Bible addresses the believer’s relationship to civil authorities. Christians are called to respect, obey, and pray for those in power—so long as such obedience does not conflict with obedience to God. Governments are permitted by Jehovah for the sake of order and justice, but they are not supreme. The Christian must navigate citizenship in this world while maintaining allegiance to the kingdom of God. This includes understanding rights, responsibilities, and when to take a stand.
