It only stands to reason that our first task is to draw close to God by getting to ‘know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom he has sent.’ (John 17:3) We do know that he has already reached out to us through his Word the Bible, a revelation about him, and his will and purposes for his creation. One way that we can grasp his instruction for us is by studying his Word.

The Son had continuous support because he always did the will of his heavenly Father. (John 3:35; 5:19-24; 8:29) We need to imitate such examples. “Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks.” (1 Thess. 5:16-18) We should not allow anything in Satan’s world to distance us from the Father.
